How it looks today

I took some updated pictures just this morning. Now it will look different by this evening, as it changes quite a bit daily now. But here is as up to date as you can get! We finished the backsplash over the weekend and I was so happy to pull up all the plastic and RAM board to expose our beautiful hardwood! The faucets are not installed, I just like to look at them. And we still need to grout all the backsplash which will be a job for sure! At this point though, I could just sit and stare at the kitchen all day, it's so very calming to me. Oh, and I LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! the countertops! We decided on Quartz and I could not be happier!

Did I mention the kids got to choose their bedroom colors? Leah went pink and Kate turquoise.

This is the laminate flooring that will be throughout the house. This is the only room we have down so far(the family room) so we still have all the bedrooms and the stairs left.

Instead of ripping up and laying new tile in the back hall, bathroom, and laundry, I just decided to re-stain  the grout. I think it turned out great. It took much longer than I expected though.

Grandma Mason's room- ready for flooring!

I also painted the laundry room cabinets to avoid buying new.

Dragging On

We have had so many small set backs that all add up to so much time! The good news is we are still getting a whole lot done each day. We have been waiting (for the last week) on some flooring parts that the company did not ship when we received the rest of our flooring. The good news about this- we made some major progress on the kitchen. The bad news- still no flooring in the bedrooms and on the stairs. Once we get the flooring down on the stairs they can measure and start making the railing which can take about 3 weeks.....ugh. Here are some photos from the first week in November.
Even with all the crazy work  Dave made time to teach Leah how to cook eggs and noodles. She is taking a cooking class at school and is getting very excited about the new skills!

Too much late night grouting!
