Sandbox days

I am so happy the sandbox days are here again! On this particular day Leah and her friends spent much of the afternoon in the sandbox. They are taking a snack break here. So fun!

Happy Easter!

We hosted a great Easter egg hunt this year with lots of friends! The turn out was around 35-40 kids. Leah was very overwhelmed by all the festivities and did not participate in the actual hunt but had a great time afterwards with friends and family. Kate slept through the hunt but woke excited to see everyone. Thanks to all that helped! I believe this may be a new annual event at our place. I will be watching for fun egg stuffers all year!

The Easter Bunny also payed us a visit leaving Teddy Bears and books for the girls. They were very happy. He was a bit stingy on the candy this year.....we have so many sweets in the house form the egg hunt yesterday. Everyone is suffering from fuzzy sugar-brain. I guess I figure the faster I eat it all the sooner it will be gone and I don't have to feel guilty about eating it. Right?

Many of the youngsters would not join the crowd for the group picture but here are the older kids ready to go!

Piggy- backing

Some days I just can't get enough of the noise in our house. Makes me so happy!

First steps!

Kate spent a lot of time practicing walking with Dave yesterday afternoon. This was followed by a horrible night sleep. But today she took her first few steps!!! She has been standing her own for increasing lengths of time the past few weeks and today after standing for quite some time she took a few steps into my arms. Let's just hope she is not one of those kids that just starts running. Here is a video of her practicing with dave yesterday.

Deck smashing

Well it's that time of year again! Project time! The sun was out today and Dave did't waste any time tearing down the old deck to build a new one. And of course Leah was in on the action and excitement. So sorry for the sideways video of yet again more hammering. I will try to give a better view tomorrow of the chaos and destruction!

Just a little Kate

A Very Late Happy Valentines

We had a great Valentines Day this year. The girls each received a gift from Dave and I. Leah got Bullseye(Woody's horse). And If you don't remember, Woody has been one of Leah's favorite toys since her second birthday. She was thrilled to say the least to get Bullseye! Kate was also very pleased with her gift of 12 play silks. We have all really enjoyed playing with them the last few weeks.

Happy outlets

Leah: "We need to buy happy outlets."
Dave(confused): "What do you mean?"
Leah(pointing out the power outlet on the wall): "Happy outlets. Not surprised ones."
Take a look at your power outlets. Ours are indeed surprised!    |  |

This is a photo of Leah playing "kangaroo". She got the idea from a book called "Children Make Terrible Pets" where the bear puts the little boy in her kangaroo costume pouch. Who knew a sleep sack could double as a kangaroo pouch. We do check at night after she has fallen asleep to make sure there are no forgotten items sleeping in the pouch. Ouch.

Galinha Pintadinha

This is a little Portuguese song Leah has been learning the past couple weeks. For all of you Brazilians keeping up with the blog!
