Pasture

We finally got the pasture mowed this week and it looks so nice! Today we introduced Neve, Lua, and the alpacas to their new place and they all love it! The barn also got a good pressure washing and it is really looking good. I can't wait to get a coat of paint on the stalls after things get a bit more under control in the house.

Meeting the neighbors -We are surrounded on both sides by horse neighbors and the girls could not be happier!

This is our newest addition, a six month old Great Pyrenees pup named Lua. She is very sweet and will be great company and help for Neve watching over all this land. A client of mine could no longer keep her and we were very happy to welcome her. 

After we opened the fence up to let the alpacas back into the pasture it took them many hours to figure out they could go back there. Then they ran for joy for quite some time. I managed to get a little video  toward the end of their romping.

Another Cabinet Day

Dave and I are a pretty good team when it comes to cabinet building. I assemble and he installs. We worked until 1 am this morning and then again all day today. Mary and Joel came out and helped haul in boxes and arrange "piles" for each cabinet. It's so much fun to see it all coming together!

Kitchen Cabinets

Putting together an IKEA kitchen is quite the project! I have constructed all the cabinets in the past two days and Dave started hanging the uppers last night. Fingers crossed we will make some good progress today. I will be building drawers and attaching doors while dave gets them all attached in position.

Kitchen Progression

It's official, I am bored. I am sick of sitting. I want to be painting. This is sort of fun though. These pictures were all taken form about the same vantage point. It looks so much bigger without the wall and with the ceiling raised!

Putting it back together

It's been about 7 weeks now since we took possession of the new house. We are in the putting together phase now. The hardwood floors have been refinished and look so much better than I could have ever expected. As I type David and his wonderful friend Nate are laying the travertine floor in the kitchen. The drywall is finished and I have it all primed and starting to paint. Whats left? TONS! Bathroom tile, cabinets, fixtures, lights, countertops, backsplash, all the other flooring throughout the house, SO MUCH PAINTING, new railing, baseboards and trim work. Ya, its still going to be a while. Then we have to MOVE! I think it feels much more overwhelming when I am sitting in a chair and can't do ANYTHING. The beautiful hardwood is covered up in these photos but you can see how much better it looks even just with drywall.

It seems like it took a long time to get all the "guts" of the kitchen and bathrooms put back together. And of course more demo happened during this time as well. It seemed like every time I turned around Dave was carrying out another piece of drywall!
